In an attempt to make the process of extending employee benefits to workers more comprehendible, the White House has recently set up a website designed to help business owners comply with the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
The online healthcare resource, Business.USA.gov/healthcare, is supposed to serve as a reference that entrepreneurs can utilize so that they don't have to devote too much of their attention on HR compliance statutes. The White House is hopeful that by going to the web address, business owners will be more clear about what's required so that they are in accordance with the Affordable Care Act once the employer mandate goes into effect in January 2015.
"As the Affordable Care Act is implemented, it is so important for us to work with the business community and provide employers with the information they need," said Penny Prizker, secretary for the Department of Commerce. "The healthcare website on Business.USA.gov/healthcare will be a tremendous resource for self-employed Americans and businesses of all sizes to learn what the Affordable Care Act means for them."
One of the primary frustrations many business owners have had with the ACA is its complexity. Various polls have shown that entrepreneurs aren't clear about what they have to do in order to fall into compliance with the ACA. The Treasury Department decided to postpone the employer mandate portion of the ACA in July so that business owners had more time to comprehend the law.
