Employers who provide robust packages of employee benefits are sure to be appreciated by their workforces because of the additional compensation that they offer. However, staff members won't be so appreciative or grateful if they aren't aware of the ways in which their coverage options can help them. For example, 401(k) retirement accounts aren't going to have funds deposited for employers to match if workers don't know that the matching is available in the first place.
This may not seem like a severe problem, but it turns out that quite a few employees aren't in the loop when it comes to their compensation. A survey recently released by ADP indicates that only about 60 percent of all workers in the United States are fully aware of the options available to them from their benefits packages. Any company that suspects its workers of this ignorance should address it immediately.
The best way to do this is to have human resource staff members thoroughly explain the ins and outs of a benefits package with their coworkers. This will allow them to see the value in their health insurance or retirement savings and can additionally help them to be more financially responsible. Be sure that there are robust options available by meeting with an employee benefits consultant.
