One of the most important employee benefits that is necessary to secure the best workers for any given position is the right to take a vacation from work and still receive a paycheck. There are few laws governing the availability of such benefits, but it is nonetheless a popular type of coverage that most employees will find very tempting when applying for a job.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 91 percent of full-time workers are offered some form of paid vacation. However, there are quite a few variables that are associated with these benefits, including whether they're earned or freely given, if they result from working overtime, or are accumulated throughout the course of a given year.

Many employers want to give their workers these benefits, but some packages are better than others. Employee benefit specialists can offer guidance and lend their experience to this situation by helping companies save money while allowing their employees a paid respite from the office. Without guidance from a benefit broker, securing the best coverage packages is expensive, time-consuming and frustrating.
