Employers can often have difficulties when making assessments of their workers' opinions. Few staff members will be as forthcoming with their thoughts about a company for fear that negative responses will be met with some form of reprisal. Consequently, businesses can feel left in the dark about how content workers are and how poor situations can be improved.
Fortunately, there are ways of divining the truth of the matter. For example, the Society for Human Resource Management conducted a survey of employees to ascertain the source of their satisfaction with employers. After job security, which was the response of 63 percent of workers, the availability of benefits was the top answer that came from 60 percent of workers.
This is an important discovery because it highlights the sheer importance of compensation when it comes to retaining staff members and hiring the best candidates. Organizations that eschew medical coverage and other services in favor of increased salaries will find themselves at a loss when top personnel depart in favor of companies that supply excellent benefits on top of sizable paychecks and consistent job security.
